Dramatic Extreme E season Finale in Uruguay with award win closer to home.
The Extreme E 2022 season came to an exciting close at the weekend in Punta del Este, for the Uruguay Natural Energy X Prix. There were multiple permutations in play heading into the final to decide the Season 2 Championship. Finishing 3rd in the final race by just half a second meant Lewis Hamilton’s Team X44 won the Season 2 Championship title. Huge congratulations also to Abt Cupra who secured their first Extreme E win in commanding style and to NEOM McLaren Racing for their first podium, finishing P2.
We’re pleased to have had a win ourselves off the track, coming away with the Best Use of Remote Production category at The Broadcast Tech Awards last night, for Extreme E Artic X Prix in Greenland. The first ever live sports broadcast from the Artic Circle - we had a small crew of 40 on site, a gallery team in London at NEP – Greys Inn Road, AR & VR graphics coming from NEP in Hilversum, Netherlands and timing and sporting graphics from Al Kamel in Barcelona. Commentary comes from the gallery in London who master the show and send it to 80+ broadcasters around the world with less than a 2 second lag.
It's been another epic season with Extreme E. We’ve faced some challenges along the way, which is to be expected in these remote locations. But, the whole ecosystem pulls together at each event to create a truly pioneering and ground breaking championship, with memories to last a lifetime. It wouldn’t be possible without the world class partners we work with and the visionaries from Extreme E who put their trust in us - a huge thanks to them.
We look forward to working together on Season 3 in 2023 with an exciting calendar packed with new adventures.
