Away from the courts of SW19, it was a gladiatorial battle in Rome this weekend as Formula E provided unprecedented drama in Rounds 13 and 14 of the Championship.
A technical circuit in scorching heat, day one saw the biggest on track incident of the series to date. Jaguar's Sam Bird clipped the wall on the 9th lap, which lead to a multi-car pile-up. A worrying incident to see but thankfully all drivers came away unhurt.
Mitch Evans took the podium top spot - his third consecutive win in the Italian capital. A huge collaborative effort from all teams saw cars being rebuilt overnight and ready to race again for day two.
A really strong result for Brit Jake Dennis in Round 14 saw Avalanche Andretti finish first on day two. And a remarkable effort by all the Jaguar team to get Sam Bird onto the podium in third place, after the crash the previous day.
Shown live on Channel 4 across the weekend, highlights were also available on Discovery+ UK and Channel 4, and can be watched on the Formula E website and YouTube channel: https://lnkd.in/eUTVTPZh
It’s tight at the top of the leader board and all eyes are now on London for the Championship finale, with a double header at the end of this month.
