SportsPro OTT Awards
We're so proud to have been nominated in the SportsPro OTT Awards in the category Best Fan Engagement, for the FIFA World Cup Daily by Hisense Group.
Our 31-episode series was a daily dose of all the action from Qatar, made with fans and football culture at its heart. A ground-breaking show presented each day throughout the tournament from Doha, the World Cup Daily brought to life the key moments from the greatest sporting tournament on the planet. All the action, atmosphere, excitement and community that created such a memorable World Cup for fans around the world.
Our unique Creator Network was a key element - a platform showcasing up-and-coming young content creators around the world. By using industry-first cloud production workflows, working with our partner Greenfly, our remote 32 “Superfans” gave a unique global fan culture perspective integrated throughout the show. Creating a fast turn, topical show each day of the tournament within a few hours of the final whistle, published to a global audience on FIFA+ and Hisense's VIDAA network, generating millions of organic views and engagements.
With thanks to all the production team and our partners at FIFA and Hisense and to our brilliant presenters Rachel Stringer, Michael Timbs and Caroline De Moraes. And we're of course very grateful to all our wonderful Fan Creators around the world, who made this such a unique and brilliant show.
Broadcast Teach Innovation Awards
We’re also excited to have been shortlisted for Best Use of Remote Production for Formula E in the Broadcast Tech Innovation Awards 2023 along with our partners Gravity Media.
Aurora produces a track cut on site which is fed back via Tata Communications’s global fibre network, to Gravity Media’s purpose build production facility in White City, London, where the show is mastered. Approximately 90 feeds are sent back to London, where up to four galleries create the International Broadcast, all with a glass-to-glass latency of just over half a second.
Congratulations to all the other nominees, the bar is set high this year across all Awards. We look forward to celebrating our brilliant industry together next month.
