The team in AlUla captured the most incredible scenes this weekend for the Fursan Cup. A race where horse and rider are pitted against the elements of an ancient desert landscape.
204 male & female jockeys from 40 countries around the world, competed in this truly unique event, in the stunning setting of AlUla, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
This gruelling event covers a distance of 120 km, over four loops that take an average of eight hours to complete. Horse welfare is paramount, they are carefully monitored by expert veterinary units, and cared for throughout by their riders and groom teams for signs of exhaustion.
Distributed globally to 19 broadcasters and streamers. Aurora produced English, Arabic and International world feeds, a 1hr highlights programme, plus worldwide livestreams on YouTube and Twitter with live clips created throughout the day.
We covered an overall footprint of approximately 200 square kilometres. The set up included 16 cameras (including Helicopter, drone, jib, 3 RF HH and 2 mini cameras) to capture the action, with 3 satellite uplinks.
Congratulations go to The Royal Commission for AlUla for pulling together a world class show. It is a complex event in tough conditions, but the execution showcased AlUla, Equine sport and care in an incredible way.
As always, a huge thank you to our brilliant partners EMG, ENG Connectivity, AlamiyaMedia, AERIOS SOLUTIONS LTD, Cloudbass Limited, Interstate Creative Partners, Air to Air - Aerial Filming and Eurovision Services for making this possible.
