The Aurora team covered Super League Triathlon, in the Swiss lakeside town of Sursee and Extreme E, on the shores of the Red Sea, in NEOM, Saudi Arabia.
Extreme E in NEOM
Season 3 of Extreme E kicked off in style with a new race format, new drivers and a new team, owned by global superstar DJ Carl Cox.
In hot, dusty conditions, the team produced the live broadcast, generated content for new digital features, and worked with teams and partners on the ground.
We had a core group on-site in Saudi Arabia, with AR/VR coming from NEP Group, Inc. in Hilversum, Netherlands, timing & sporting graphics from Al Kamel Systems S.L. in Barcelona, with the show mastered at the NEP Group, Inc. studios in London.
It was great to have Jennie Gow joining us in the studio, we wish her well with her continued recovery. Thanks to Nicki Shields for holding the mic and doing an excellent job filling in, alongside motorsport legend Andrew Coley, all fronted by the inimitable Laura Winter. Bring on Scotland for the Hydrio X-Prix, in May.
Congratulations to the first time winners Veloce Racing & ACCIONA Sainz EX Team and to Extreme E on staging an amazing event.
Super League Triathlon in Sursee
In Sursee, Super League Triathlon's ground-breaking Arena Games powered by Zwift format returned for the second leg.
Hungary had the headlines in the women’s competition with Zsannett Bragmayer taking gold and Fanni Szalai becoming the youngest ever Arena Games athlete having only turned 15 in January. She came away with a bronze medal, racing at elite level for the first time.
South Africa's Henri Schoeman came back from injury and illness to take gold, in front of a sell-out crowd, in the men's race.
Next month Super League Triathlon comes to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London, for a spectacular Grand Finale, on 8th April.
